Lily Blanton of Redding will be among the young performers in the production of the Nutcracker Ballet as the Ballet Etudes Company celebrates its 25th anniversary season with two weekends of performances at the Westport Country Playhouse.
This year’s guest artists are dancers from the New York City Ballet, Georgina Pazcoguin and Gonzalo Garcia. Also appearing in the production are Christina Fagundes, formerly of American Ballet Theatre and Ballet Etudes resident choreographer, and Jennifer Tinsley Williams, formerly with New York City Ballet and ballet mistress with Ballet Etudes.
The Ballet Etudes Company, under the direction of Nanette Vallas, is located in Norwalk, and is a company of 16 aspiring pre-professional dancers from the greater Fairfield County area. The production has a cast of more than 90 dancers, including 60 students of the ballet school.
The production features sets designed by Leo Meyer and costumes formerly from the collection of American Ballet Theatre.
Performances are Dec.7 and 8 at 1 and 4 and Dec. 14 at 1 and 4. For tickets and more information, call the Westport Playhouse box office at 203-227-4177 or visit westportplayhouse.org.
