Saturday, Dec. 8
Winter Walk at Putnam Park starting at the Visitor Center at 11 a.m. This is a 45-minute walk through the park with Dan Cruson, local historian, who will describe the winter encampment during the Revolutionary War. The event is free but donations will be accepted. There will be refreshments. The Visitor Center opens at 10 a.m.
“The Art of Bookmaking” for children six and older at the Mark Twain Library at 2 p.m. The program is free but space is limited. RSVP at the library’s front desk, by phone at 203-938-2545, or online at www.MarkTwainLibrary.org.
Sunday, Dec. 9
Third Annual Pancake Breakfast at Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department will be held from 8 a.m. to noon. It is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Firefighters will serve pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee and orange juice as well as give visitors a tour of the firehouse. For more information visit gtownfire.org or call 203-544-8800.
Holiday Gathering at Lonetown Farm Museum, 43 Lonetown Road, from 1 to 4. Visitors may tour the museum and the Zalmon Read Barn. There will be refreshments and gift items for sale. The Redding Historical Society is sponsoring this event.
Friday, Dec. 14
Cocktail Party and Toy Drive at the Redding Community Center from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and holiday treats. The cost is $25 per person. The club and Greybeards are working together to collect toys to be distributed at a holiday party they are sponsoring in Breezy Point, Qeens, N.Y. Wrapped gifts with tags indicating appropriate age and gender will be collected at the holiday party or can be donated by contacting Carolyn Baker at [email protected] or 203-664-1607.
