The Achieving with Integrity Club is hosting its third annual Team Up for Integrity basketball game on March 13 at Joel Barlow High School.

The Achieving with Integrity Club is a philanthropic organization working to promote integrity throughout Joel Barlow High School. In Team Up for Integrity, students and teachers play basketball together to foster positive student-teacher relationships.

Maddie Asplund, co-president of the Achieving with Integrity Club (AWIC), explained that the AWIC basketball game promotes a “positive relationship between teachers and students, creating integrity in the classroom.”

In total, eight teams will compete in the tournament, each team consisting of two teachers, two students, and a fifth player, who can be either a student or a teacher. Team captains, assigned by the AWIC, choose their own teams, demonstrating the connections between students and teachers that this event encourages and celebrates.

A $1 donation is suggested at the door to help support more AWIC events such as the Stuff a Bus for the Troops, Pay It Forward campaign and Got Integrity? posters.

“The AWIC is very excited to host this event and we thank our team sponsors,” said Olivia O’Halloran, co-president of the Achieving with Integrity Club. “The AWIC is still seeking sponsors to cover the cost of trophies and T-shirts for the event.”
