2nd, 135th House Districts: Candidates will meet at league’s debate

Every two years, Redding voters decide who will represent them and the interests of the town in the House of Representatives in Hartford. Each time, the Redding League of Women Voters provides an ideal opportunity for voters to learn from and to submit questions to the candidates at an impartial debate so that they can be informed voters on Election Day.

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Redding Community Center at 7:30 p.m., the public is invited to hear candidates for the 135th House District, incumbent John Shaban (R) and challenger Leon Karvelis (D), and candidates for the 2nd House District, incumbent Dan Carter (R) and challenger Steven DeMoura (D) address the leading issues of the day.

The league moderator will be Charlotte Garrell from Fairfield, who has moderated several past debates in Redding. So, circle Wednesday, October 24, on your calendar now, come to the Community Center at 7:30 p.m. and plan to be an educated voter. Above all, remember to go to the polls on Nov. 6 and vote.
