Joel Barlow High boys cross country runner was third overall at the State Open championship on Sunday at Wickham Park in Manchester.
Fulton, the only Barlow runner to qualify for the race, finished the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 22 seconds behnd winner Henry Wynne of Staples and runner-up Jake Feinstein of Newtown.
Fulton will next compete in the New England championships on Saturday at Twin Brook Recreation Area in Cumberland, Maine.
