Thursday, Nov. 8

Reed Collyer of Collyer Catering will give a talk entitled “Easy and Elegant Entertaining” at 7:30 p.m. at the Mark Twain Library. Refreshments will be served. Make a reservation on the sign-up sheet at the circulation Desk or by calling the library at 938-2545.

Friday, Nov. 9

Stuff A Bus for the Troops at Joel Barlow High School from 2 to 4 near the front bus loop. There is an official list of the most popular items requested by troops at give2thetroops.org/items. Monetary donations to help with the cost of shipping the items overseas will also be accepted.

Saturday, Nov. 10

Pasta Dinner, a fund-raiser at Georgetown’s Gilbert & Bennett School and Cultural Center, 29 New Street, on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. that is hosted by Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Tickets are $10 when purchased in advance, $7 for children ages 4 through 10 and for seniors 65 and older. The cost is $1 more at the door. Free for children up to age 3. Donations of non-perishable food for the town pantry are welcomed. Call 203-544-8858 to purchase tickets.

Monday, Nov. 12

Veterans Day observance at Joel Barlow High School. All veterans who live in Easton and Redding are invited to attend. The program will run from 7:40 a.m. through 12:15 p.m. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Veterans will be able to meet with small groups of students to share their experiences before an assembly in the auditorium honoring all veterans.

Friday, Nov. 30

Opening Preview Gala for the Mark Twain Library’s 40th Annual Art Show and Sale from 7 to 10. All current “Friends of the Library,” those who have made a financial contribution to the library in the past year, were mailed invitations. If you did not receive one, and would like to attend the gala, please contact the library at 203-938-2545.

Saturday, Dec. 1

through Sunday, Dec. 9

Mark Twain Library’s 40th Annual Art Show and Sale during regular library hours. This is one of the library’s four major fund-raisers each year.

Wednesday, Dec. 19

Jazz Interlude@MTL featuring jazz pianist David Morgan at the Mark Twain Library from 11 to 12:15.. Sign up on the library’s website or by calling the library at the main number, 203 938-2545.
