Scratch programming workshop set at the Mark Twain Library from 2 to 4 p.m. for grades four through six. Scratch is a programing language for creating interactive stories, animations, games and more. Participants are asked to bring their laptops.
Astronomy program at New Pond Farm Education Center in conjunction with the Discovery Center at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public. The fee is $4 per person for New Pond Farm members, with a maximum of $16 per family. For nonmembers, the charge is $6 per person, with a maximum of $24 per family. Registration is required. Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 7:30 p.m. at The First Church of Christ, Congregational on the Green at 25 Cross Highway. All Redding residents and friends are invited to attend. Opening Preview Gala for the Mark Twain Library’s 40th Annual Art Show and Sale from 7 to 10. All current “Friends of the Library,” those who have made a financial contribution to the library in the past year, were mailed invitations.
