Club’s Safe Steps program is offering ice melt delivery, shoveling for seniors

Working together with Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association and Keough Hardware, high school students from the Boys and Girl Club of Redding Easton’s Keystone Club through its Safe Steps program will deliver ice melt to a senior citizen’s door through Dec. 31. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club Leadership Program.

Cash or checks (only) will be collected at time of delivery. Please make checks payable to Keough’s Paint & Hardware. A 10 lb. bag of ice melt is %5; 25 lb. bag, $15; and a shaker container, $10. The prices are net including taxes. Orders may be made by calling Keough’s Paint and Hardware at 1 Ethan Allen Highway, 203-544-8379.

The Keystoners are also coordinating a shoveling program in which they will shovel walkways, paths to mailboxes, garbage cans, steps, etc., but no driveways, for seniors.  If interested in getting your name on the list, call Anita Arnold at the first selectman’s office at 203-938-2002.
