Choir girls

Redding Elementary School fourth grade student Lily Anderson, left, and John Read Middle School fifth grade student Olivia Scarozza prepare music to be performed by the National Children’s Choir. Both girls were accepted into the highly select choir of about 200 fourth and fifth grade students and are beginning to learn their parts with help from Dr. Caldwell. Dr. Caldwell submitted the girls’ auditions into a nationwide competition in October. The national choir is sponsored by the Organization of American Kodaly Educators. The choir will perform at the organization’s upcoming March 2013 conference in Hartford.
