After winning the Elks Fairfield County basketball free throw shooting contest earlier this month, 13-year-old Christiana Cottrell of Redding competed in and won the Elks Coastal district championship on Sunday at Fairfield Warde High School. Sinking 21 of 25 attempts, Cottrell now advances to the state final to be held on Feb. 9, where she will compete for the Elks State of Connecticut free throw championship title for her age bracket.
