Connecting to Customers One Letter @ a Time, a program by Cathy Drury, a Constant Contact Solution Provider, at the Mark Twain Library at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Saturday, Jan. 19
Pasta night fund-raiser, will be held at the Georgetown Fire House from 5:30 to 8:30. Food is provided by Toozy Patza of Wilton. Tickets can be purchased at Toozy Patza for $12 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds to go the Sandy Hook School Support Fund.
Astronomy Night at New Pond Farm Observatory, 101 Marchant Road, West Redding, starting at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The fee is $4 per person for New Pond Farm members with a maximum of $16 per family; $6 for individual non-members and $24 per family. If it looks cloudy, the program will be rescheduled to Sunday, Jan. 20. Call 203-938-2117 after 5 to learn the program’s stutus and to make required reservations.

“Edward Steichen and Paul Caponigro — Seeing the Redding Landscape,” is the topic of a program by David Heald, director of photographic services at the Guggenheim Museum, at 3 p.m. Admission is free though reservations are requested since space is limited. For those wishing to attend, the library has a signup sheet at the front desk. Registration is also accepted by phoning the library at 203-938-2545.

American Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored by Redding Girl Scout Troop 50122, from 1:45 to 6:45 at the Congregational Church, 25 Cross Highway. Appointments are encouraged. To schedule, call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit www.redcrossblood.org. All donors will receive a coupon for a free pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.

“JFK’s Secret Doctor” is Susan Schaller’s new book, which will be discussed at the Mark Twain Library at 7 p.m. Admission to the library program is free. Register online at marktwainlibrary.org, call 203-938-2545, or sign up at the circulation desk.

CPR Saturday at Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company, No. 1, from 8 to noon. Registration in advance is required. To register, leave a message at 203-544-8800 or email info@gtownfire.org and provide your name and phone number. While the course is free, to get an American Heart Association certification card, a participant must pay $5.
