Book group meets Monday at Center, trips for seniors still have openings

The next meeting of Talking About Books is on Monday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. in the Lounge at Heritage Center and facilitated by Myrna Robinson. The book to be discussed is Russian Winter by Daphne Kalotay, a story of a mysterious jewel that holds the key to a life-changing secret. Light refreshments will be served.

There are still openings for trips in February and March:

Saturday, Feb. 16 — UCONN Women’s Basketball Game vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, N.J. The cost is $57.

Thursday, Feb.  21 — Connecticut Flower & Garden Show at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The cost is $77.

Wednesday, March 13 — Ace in the Hole presents “My Wild Irish Rose” at the Royal Manor in Garfield, N.J. The cost is $94.
