Book on JFK’s doctor is topic of library program on Jan. 31

Susan Schaller

Author Susan Schaller (pen name Susan E.B. Schwartz) will discuss her book, JFK’s Secret Doctor, which tells the thrilling story of alpinist and medical visionary Hans Kraus, at the Mark Twain Library on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m.

Dr. Kraus was legendary for his hair-raising ascents on two continents as well as his pioneering approaches to treating back pain using natural methods of proper exercise and muscle strengthening, methods that brought him into the Kennedy White House and the inner circle of Camelot.

The author, a resident of Wilton, has written for the climbing and adventure media and is a partner to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
