Club’s coat drive this weekend

Torch Club members are seeking new or gently used coats for the Redding-Easton Boys and Girl Club’s Annual Coat Drive. Coat Drive Project team members are (from left to right) Torch Club President Taylor Paradise, Project Manager John Bunce, Torch Club Secretary Hannah Ota, and Torch Club Treasurer Riley Paradise.

The Redding-Easton Boys and Girls Club’s Annual Coat Drive, benefiting Button Up Connecticut, took place last weekend and is set for this weekend.

Organized by club’s Torch Club, new and gently used coats will be collected at the Redding Community Center on Saturday and Sunday,  Feb. 2 and 3, from 9 to 5. Coat donations will also be accepted in a donation box located at the club’s pavilion all day until Friday, Feb. 8.

“We hope people can take a few minutes to look through their closets and find a coat they don’t need any more,” said John Bunce, Torch Club member and Coat Drive Project Manager.

Button Up Connecticut has been collecting coats for all seasons and ages for 21 years. Since 1992, they have distributed more than 125,000 coats to men, women and children in need.
