Redding Selectman Donald Takacs, M.Ed, president of the Connecticut Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, will speak at the Brookfield Library on Monday, Feb. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. after the showing of the HBO2 documentary Journey Into Dyslexia.
Mr. Takacs has been the president of the Connecticut Branch of the International Dyslexia Association since 2010. He serves as a teaching specialist and service learning faculty fellow for the Reading Internship at the University of Connecticut, Stamford. This course trains university students to tutor phonics-based multisensory reading instruction to kindergarten through third grade children at after school programs in Norwalk and Stamford.
Admission to the talk is free and there will be an interactive question and answer session following the talk.
