Workshop for caretakers of the memory impaired

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will present a workshop called Maintaining Dignity for those caring for a loved one with memory-impairment on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m.

The workshop will be held at the offices of Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County at the Health and Wellness Center of Norwalk Hospital at 761 Main Avenue (Route 7) on the Norwalk/ Wilton town line.

Maintaining Dignity will be presented by Dawn Pelazza, RN.  Ms. Pelazza is a Dementia Educator for the Alzheimer’s Association Education Conference and a nurse with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County.  She will discuss the many challenges involved in caring for a person afflicted with memory impairment and will offer guidance for those struggling to provide care at home.  This workshop will offer insights and the opportunity to discuss ways to maintain dignity for both the caregiver and the memory-impaired adult.

The workshop on Maintaining Dignity is free-of-charge and open to the public but space is limited and registration is required. For more information, or to register to attend the workshop, contact Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County at 203-762-8958.
