Nancy Einberger Sawicki, 67, of West Redding, died at her home on Dec. 26, 2012.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1945, in St. Paul, Minn. As a child, she loved to participate in pageants, taking home a number of awards. She worked as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines from 1964-68 and developed her lifelong love of travel. She was a huge fan of theater and during her younger years she joined a variety of summer stock productions, particularly after moving from St. Paul to Philadelphia, and then New York City. While working as a secretary in Philadelphia, she met her future husband, Richard Sawicki, an architect.
The couple married on Oct. 13, 1985, and immediately began designing and then overseeing the building of their future home in West Redding. Mrs. Sawicki owned and ran the Cobble Creek Play School out of her home for several years.
Her husband, Richard Sawicki, died shortly after her death on Jan. 6, 2013. She is survived by her sister, Mary Anne Einberger Woolsey and brother-in-law, Larry Woolsey, of Oakdale, Minn.; two nephews, Michael Woolsey of River Falls, WI., and Matthew Woolsey of North St. Paul, Minn.; an aunt, Eileen Norton, of West St. Paul, Minn., and several grandnieces and nephews.
A private joint burial service for Nancy and Dick Sawicki will be held in the spring.
Donations may be sent to Habitat for Humanity.
The Bouton Funeral Home in Georgetown is in charge of arrangements.
