Trail Day hike set for June 1 in Redding

The Redding Conservation Commission will sponsor a Connecticut Trail Day hike in Redding on Saturday, June 1, (The rain date June 2), from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

This five-mile variation of The Westway Long Trail will connect several preserves and natural areas.  Expect a few steep spots and on-road segments on this five-mile journey. The public is invited to join in a discussion of the town’s open space, Redding’s history, the challenges of invasive plants and the proposed Norwalk River Valley Trail.

Meet leaders Stuart Green, Jeremiah Ross, and Kent Stivers promptly near 2 Charlie Hill Road (by Marchant Road) to spot cars and carpool to the Peaceable Street trailhead (near #32) to begin the hike.
