Heritage Center is open Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 to 5:30 and Thursday from 8:30 to 6. The center is closed on Friday.

Among the programs offered at the Heritage Center are the following. Sign-up information is available at the office, 203-938-9725.

Holiday Luncheon will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9 at noon. The cost is $10 and the menu is ham, potatoes, salad, vegetable and apple pie a la mode. Call the office to make a reservation.

The Beadweaving Classes by Muriel Badinelli, to make wreath earrings or a pendant,  will be held on Wednesdays, Dec. 10 in the evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the art room.

Coping with Holidays, dealing with stress and loss on Monday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. Sponsored by Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will host the session. Participants will find out how to prevent the stress that can descend during the hectic holiday season. The workshop will be facilitated by Rachel Yurdin, licensed clinical social worker with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County. She will offer practical tips for coping with stress and loss during this festive but often frenzied time of year. This is a free workshop and is open to the public. Register at 203-938-9725.

Christmas in the Air, There is still time to sign up for tickets to the Christmas matinee show at Michael’s at the Grove in Bethel on Sunday, Dec. 21. There will be car pooling if needed.

Creative Writing Workshop with Cheryl Panosian-Haddad begins Jan. 7, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. for six weeks. This workshop will teach writers how to put thoughts and stories on paper. Whether a novice or advanced writer, interested in fiction, memoir or poetry, there is something for you. Members of the group will be guided to write weekly and share their work in a positive environment. The workshop has six sessions that are 90 minutes each. Register by Dec. 22.
