Schmidt is recognized with ‘A-Plus Award’

The Asperger’s Association of New England (AANE) has awarded Eric Schmidt, speech and language pathologist at John Read Middle School, its “A-Plus Award.” This annual award is presented to those highly dedicated educators who have been nominated by parents as ones who have gone the extra mile and have made a difference in their children’s lives.

Sara Sobel, a parent who nominated Mr. Schmidt, described him as, “caring for students in a way that goes far beyond the demands of their Individualized Education Plans” and as “an individual with a deep understanding of the tremendous opportunity for growth and improvement that can take place at middle school.”

Mr. Schmidt received his award at The Asperger’s Association of New England’s Annual Conference on Oct. 13 at Boston University. He was accompanied by Mrs. Sobel.
