The Pilates Advantage hosts St. Jude fund-raiser on Jan. 30

Mary Beth Young, owner of The Pilates Advantage at 4 Old Mill Road in Georgetown, is celebrating five years of business by hosting a fund-raiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. people can sign up for a session at $30 per person with all proceeds going to St. Jude, said Ms. Young.

“We’ll start with cardio then do pilates on the machines then do mat pilates and a yoga-fit combo,” she said.

In the past, Ms. Young has raised about $150,000 for St. Jude while she worked at a gym in Ridgefield, she said.

“When I came here [Georgetown] I had to figure out a way to do [a fund-raiser]. I want to give back, I’ve been so fortunate,” she said. “If I raise $1,000 I’d be happy.”

This is the first year doing a fund-raiser at The Pilates Advantage and she said she’d like to see it get bigger.

“People can also make donations,” she said.

The Pilates Advantage is for everyone and people can sign up for group sessions or private sessions Monday through Saturday by calling 203-544-9289 or email [email protected]

People may also sign up for a free trial and informational session.
