Girl Scouts seek donations for pantry

In response to a Dec. 21 Pilot article, “Number of Residents in Need Increasing,” the Girl Scouts of Redding have organized a movie pajama party for all Redding Girl Scouts on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 3 to 5 at the Redding Community Center. The event is  aimed at filling the Redding Food Pantry.

While the event is only for Girl Scouts, the scouts are inviting  members of the community to drop off items during the event to support their cause. For those who have items to donate, but are unable to drop them off, they may contact Scott Smith  at [email protected] or Ritu Duenwald at [email protected] for pick up.

A list of the items most needed by the Food Pantry follows:

Mac and cheese, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, detergent, personal hygiene products, spa[ and soup.

Also, canned fruit (oranges, peaches, etc.) juices, juice boxes, snacks for kids lunches, ground coffee, snack bars, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressing and crackers.
