Doris Nobes

Doris Burritt Nobes of Redding, CT passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the age of 86.

She was born in Weston, CT, daughter of the late Frederick Harold and Maude (Lockwood) Burritt. She was the husband of the late George H. Nobes.

Doris graduated from Danbury High School and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture until her retirement in 1983. She served as Registrar of Voters for the Redding Republican Party, enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading and going to lunch with her friends. Doris was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational, in Redding.

She was predeceased by her brothers Emerson, Lloyd and John Burritt. She is survived by her son, Alan and his wife Debbie, grandson, Mark, and granddaughter Lisa of Brookfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 6-8 at the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 Church Street, Georgetown, CT. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Church of Christ Congregational, 25 Cross Highway, Redding Center, CT on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Redding Volunteer Fire Department or the memorial fund of the First Church of Christ Congregational, Redding.
