Park & Rec. is offering an adult cooking class

The Park and Recreation Department is offering an adult cooking class with Victoria Eastus, the owner of Carrot Top Country Kitchen, a catering and specialty food company in Redding.

Her “Getting Ready for Spring” class is on Wednesday, March 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will discuss the uses of fresh herbs, early spring crops, bright main meal salads, classic roast chicken, lamb, fun and different lunch ideas.

Ms. Eastus has taught cooking classes in Los Angeles and Boston and has taken classes in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Phoenix and Israel.  Her passion is teaching the joys of food and local ingredients and using them as a canvas for exploring new and different taste profiles.

The fee is $40. Register online at or at the Park and Recreation Office at 203-938-2551.
